Decentralized exchange protocol for peer-to-peer ERC-20 trading.

0x swaps recognized as trades
Bitwave identifies calls to the 0x exchange contracts in a synced wallet's history, including swaps and RFQ order fills, and records the resulting token movements as trades rather than unrelated transfers.

Cost basis and gains on each swap
Because a 0x swap is recorded as a trade, Bitwave applies cost basis to the asset disposed and computes the gain or loss, with the acquired asset entering inventory at its fair market value.

Gas and fees attached to the trade
The network fee paid for a 0x transaction is captured as part of the same trade record, so fee expense is booked with the swap and mapped to the fee account configured in your accounting settings.
How it works
Bitwave does not connect to 0x itself. It connects to the Ethereum wallets that trade through 0x and reads their transaction history. When a transaction calls a 0x exchange contract, Bitwave treats the token movements as a trade, pairing what was sold with what was bought and attaching the network fee.
Trades then flow through Bitwave's standard pricing, cost basis, and gain/loss processing and into journal entry reporting.
The workflow:
- Add the Ethereum wallet that trades through 0x.
- Bitwave syncs the wallet's transactions and records 0x swaps as trades.
- Review pricing and categorize the trades and fees, individually or through rules.
- Carry realized gains, losses, and fee expense into gain/loss and journal entry reporting.
.avif)
Swaps routed through an aggregator like 0x arrive on chain as a bundle of token transfers, and without context they can be misread as separate deposits and withdrawals. Bitwave recognizes the 0x exchange contracts and records each swap as a trade, which is what the accounting requires.
For the finance team, the result is a trade record with cost basis on the asset sold, fair market value on the asset received, and the network fee attached as fee expense, ready for gain/loss reporting and journal entries without manual reconstruction of what each transaction did.
Complete. Transparent. Secure.
ERPs
Sync data in real-time and eliminate manual errors. Bitwave seamlessly integrates with your existing back-office software for easier reporting.
