Streamlined Coinbase Prime accounting with Bitwave

Institutional-grade trading and custody service for crypto assets.

Why connect Coinbase Prime to Bitwave ?

Vault and trading wallets by portfolio

Bitwave reads each Coinbase Prime portfolio and separates its vault and trading wallets, bringing in transactions, orders, fills, and activities so custody and trading are distinguishable in the subledger.

Balances captured around each update

Bitwave pulls Prime balances at the start and end of each portfolio update, so your team can compare custody balances with subledger balances and spot gaps in imported history.

Payments executed through Prime

Bitwave Payments can use a Coinbase Prime vault as a custodial payment method, preparing batch payments for your team to approve in Prime and registering Bitwave's payment and whitelist contracts in the Prime address book.

How it works

Bitwave connects to Coinbase Prime with access credentials you create in Prime. Bitwave validates them when you add them, then finds the portfolios under them and brings each one in.

For accounting, the connection is inbound: transactions, orders, fills, activities, and balances flow into the subledger. For Bitwave Payments, a Prime vault can be configured as a payment method, in which case Bitwave prepares the payment in Prime and your team approves it there.

The workflow:

  1. Create Prime access credentials and add them in Bitwave.
  2. Bitwave finds your portfolios and brings in vault and trading wallet activity, trades, and balances.
  3. Categorize and reconcile the imported activity in Bitwave.
  4. Optionally add a Prime vault as a payment method, register Bitwave's contract addresses in the Prime address book, and approve payment batches in Prime.

Key Benefits

What makes the Bitwave integration with Coinbase Prime special ?

Coinbase Prime combines custody and trading in portfolios, and institutions want both the accounting record and, increasingly, a controlled way to pay from custody. Bitwave covers both: it brings Prime portfolios into the subledger and can route Bitwave Payments through a Prime vault with approvals staying in Prime.

For the finance team, that means trading and custody activity is categorized with balances captured for reconciliation, while payables settled in digital assets can be executed from Prime with whitelisted addresses and Prime's own approval chain, and the resulting transactions land back in the same subledger for booking.
