Streamlined Intuit Quickbooks accounting with Bitwave

Small business accounting software for invoicing and bookkeeping.

Why connect Intuit Quickbooks to Bitwave ?

Work from your QuickBooks chart of accounts

After you sign in through Intuit, Bitwave syncs your QuickBooks Online accounts as categories and your customers and vendors as contacts, so categorization in Bitwave uses the same accounts your books already use.

Reconciled activity recorded as QuickBooks transactions

When you reconcile in Bitwave, categorized digital asset activity is recorded in QuickBooks as deposits, expenses, transfers, or journal entries against the digital asset bank account and fee expense account you selected during setup.

Settle invoices and bills in QuickBooks

Bitwave syncs customer invoices and vendor bills from QuickBooks Online, lets you match inbound or outbound transactions to them, and posts the payment and the foreign exchange difference against accounts receivable or payable.

How it works

Bitwave connects to QuickBooks Online through Intuit's sign-in, so you authorize access without sharing your QuickBooks password. The connection works with QuickBooks Online, not QuickBooks Desktop.

During setup you choose a digital asset holding account, which appears in QuickBooks as a bank account, and a fee expense account for network and exchange fees. Bitwave keeps your accounts, contacts, invoices, and bills in sync so they are available during categorization.

The workflow:

  1. Authorize the connection by signing in to QuickBooks Online through Bitwave.
  2. Select the digital asset holding account and the fee expense account.
  3. Categorize digital asset transactions in Bitwave using your QuickBooks accounts and contacts.
  4. Reconcile the categorized transactions to record them in QuickBooks, individually or in bulk.

Key Benefits

What makes the Bitwave integration with Intuit Quickbooks special ?

QuickBooks Online holds the general ledger, while cost basis, gains and losses, and wallet-level balances for digital assets need a subledger. Bitwave is that subledger, working out those details before anything reaches your books.

Because the connection reads your QuickBooks accounts and contacts and writes entries back into the same company file, your team categorizes once in Bitwave and reviews the results in QuickBooks. Invoice and bill matching lets digital asset receipts and payments settle receivables and payables without a separate manual application step, so the QuickBooks ledger reflects your digital asset activity when you close the period.
