Streamlined Opyn accounting with Bitwave

Decentralized options trading protocol for risk management.

Why connect Opyn to Bitwave ?

Option tokens recognized with expiry

Bitwave identifies Opyn option tokens across protocol versions in a synced Ethereum wallet, extracts the option's expiry, and tracks the position separately from ordinary token holdings.

Squeeth and Crab positions resolved

Squeeth and Crab strategy positions are recognized, and Bitwave reads the collateral behind short positions, including Uniswap liquidity used by the strategy, to state the position's underlying value.

Derivative positions in the balance report

Opyn positions appear in the Bitwave balance report as DeFi positions, so your team can review options and Squeeth exposure alongside spot holdings at period end and categorize entries and exits.

How it works

Bitwave connects to the Ethereum wallets that use Opyn. After a wallet is added, Bitwave syncs its transactions and recognizes Opyn option tokens, Squeeth, and Crab strategy positions, capturing option expiry and reading the collateral behind short positions.

Your team categorizes position entries, exits, and settlements as positions and reviews the positions in reporting.

The workflow:

  1. Add the Ethereum wallet that trades options or Squeeth on Opyn.
  2. Bitwave syncs the wallet's history and identifies Opyn option, Squeeth, and Crab positions.
  3. Categorize entries, exits, and settlements as positions, individually or through rules.
  4. Review Opyn positions and collateral in the balance report and carry gains and losses into journal entries.

Key Benefits

What makes the Bitwave integration with Opyn special ?

Options and power perpetuals are among the hardest DeFi instruments to account for, because the token in the wallet represents a contract with expiry and collateral rather than a simple asset. Bitwave recognizes Opyn's instruments, captures expiry, and resolves the collateral behind short positions.

For the finance team, that means derivative exposure shows up in period-end balances rather than as unexplained tokens, entries and exits can be categorized consistently, and the gain or loss on settlement is computed with the position's history in view.
