Streamlined Uniswap accounting with Bitwave

Ethereum-based automated market maker and decentralized exchange.

Why connect Uniswap to Bitwave ?

Swaps recorded as trades

Bitwave recognizes calls to the Uniswap router in your wallet's transaction history and treats the token movements as trades, so the disposed asset, acquired asset, and network fee are recorded together.

Liquidity positions identified

Uniswap pool tokens and concentrated liquidity positions are recognized as liquidity positions, and Bitwave resolves the pair of underlying assets and the wallet's share of the pool behind each one.

Pool entries kept out of gain/loss

Adding or removing liquidity can be categorized as a position change rather than a disposal, and the DeFi return view can measure return on Uniswap positions over the holding period.

How it works

Bitwave reads the Ethereum wallets you connect and identifies Uniswap activity within them. Swaps routed through Uniswap are recorded as trades, and the pool tokens or position records that Uniswap issues when you provide liquidity are recognized as liquidity positions with their underlying assets resolved.

Your team then decides how each movement is treated using Bitwave's DeFi categorization, and the results flow into balances, gain/loss, and journal entries.

The workflow:

  1. Add the Ethereum wallet that trades or provides liquidity on Uniswap.
  2. Bitwave syncs the wallet's transactions, recording swaps as trades and identifying pool tokens and concentrated liquidity positions.
  3. Categorize liquidity additions and removals as liquidity positions, individually or through rules.
  4. Review positions in the balance report and carry gains, losses, and fees into journal entry reporting.

Key Benefits

What makes the Bitwave integration with Uniswap special ?

Uniswap activity mixes two very different accounting events: swaps, which are taxable trades, and liquidity provision, which changes the form of a holding without disposing of it. Bitwave distinguishes the two, so trades receive cost basis and gain/loss treatment while pool entries and exits are handled as position changes.

For finance teams with Uniswap positions, the result is a balance report that includes the assets sitting inside pools, trades with network fees attached, and a consistent treatment for liquidity that holds up when auditors ask how a pool token was valued and why it did not trigger a gain.
